Dear friends in Dover,
We want to let you know that the main gate sign at the Olivet University campus has been changed to “Evangelical Center.” The change reflects the stronger emphasis on the diverse purpose of the campus.
As some of you who attended may remember, back in 2016 we held an inauguration service and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Evangelical Center on the campus in front of the chapel. From the beginning, our master plan always included not only educational use (which will remain a core focus) but also a tech park for innovation, religious partner organizations, a hospital, a business center, the sports facilities and more.
While the education part no longer includes credit programs at this present time, there are future plans for doctoral and post-doctoral research programs, certificate programs for language, IT, design and more.
Moreover, we also have the office of the World Evangelical Alliance here at our Dover campus. The World Evangelical Alliance was founded 175 years ago in London and is an organization that seeks to unite and serve some 600 million
Evangelicals Christians in 143 countries across the globe. (See more at www.worldea.org).
For more information about the Evangelical Center, you can visit the website at www.evangelicalcenter.org
It has some helpful information and, of course, will be updated with more details as future plans develop.
We wanted to share this with you, in case you were wondering about the new sign and what it means. We’re grateful to be part of this beautiful Dover community and look forward to seeing the campus developed further.
