On August 22, Dover Greens successfully hosted the Second Annual “Swinging with Spirit” Youth Golf Event at Harlem Valley Golf Club. First launched in 2024, the program has now grown into a yearly tradition supported by Dover Greens, the Town of Poughkeepsie, and the local Dover community, drawing nearly 100 participants.
This year’s event brought together youth golfers, young professional mentors, local government representatives, volunteers, and families from the broader community. Registration began in the morning, followed by opening remarks and an introduction to the event’s purpose, emphasizing youth development and community engagement.
Speakers included Former County Executive Bill O’Neal, a core committee member; New York State Assemblyman Anil Beephan, Jr., representing the 105th District; Glenn Marchi, Commissioner and Chief Information Officer of Orange County and committee member; and Pat Sullivan, PGA Golf Professional who coordinated the team of young golf mentors.
Dover Greens extends its appreciation to all committee members, volunteers, and community partners whose collaboration made the event successful. From favorable weather to excellent coordination and the enthusiastic participation of families and students, Swinging with Spirit 2025 strengthened the bonds between local organizations and continues to expand its impact as a meaningful annual youth initiative.
